To Seek the Welfare of the City: A Call to Faithful Building
Why does our current place matter in light of God’s kingdom? What does it mean to be faithful builders of “place” in our city? How can we use our place to exemplify the truth, beauty, and goodness of Jesus to our neighbors and our city? We will consider how our faithful engagement with the built environment of our place is a fundamental component of the biblical directive to seek the welfare of the city. Additionally, it will explore important elements of designing for human dignity and highlight creative ways to endeavor “placemaking” as a church in order to promote the flourishing of the local neighborhood.
