Here is the calendar
Schedule:
8:30 a.m. Gathering Time with Coffee, Tea, and Morning Treats
9 a.m. Program
Because it is Lent, because we are in the midst of many changes, and a capital campaign, we are offering a few hours away from the world to talk about prayer and to practice different forms of prayer. The program will be followed by the opportunity to visit Prayer Stations
that offer suggestions for a variety of ways to pray. The HOH portable Labyrinth will also be available during open time.
Prayer is often thought of as a pouring out of gratitude or concerns before God. I can also be a conversation where we both speak and listen. Contemplative prayer is only listening; using a sacred word to call oneself into prayer and back from a wandering mind, the practitioner continues to let go of their own thoughts, worries, or curiosities to listen for and rest in God. Prayer can take many forms. Prayer can be walking, dancing, writing, singing, chant, or listening to scripture or music. Our knitters pray while creating a prayer shawl just as other forms of art or action can be a prayer. Prayer in a way is about our intent to be nearer to God. All are welcome to take some time away.
