Rob Scarlett has spent a good part of his NGO career and his business career in Latin America. Rob will acknowledge the “left-right” political trends in the region but will argue that this analysis is not particularly helpful to those who sincerely wish to understand the direction of change in politics in the region.

Rob Scarlett has served as a senior executive in a number of smaller manufacturing companies over the years. Since 1999, he has also led Hunter Scarlett Consulting and serves as a director for start-ups in the US, Europe, and Latin America. He graduated from Carleton College in the mid-1960s and spent much of the past 50 years working and living in various countries in Latin America. He is also a former Chair of Global Minnesota, the organization that coordinates Great Decisions in our state.
