What does it mean to inherit and re-imagine a legacy of faith? Born in an era when the US church was already in decline, the challenge for Elsa, like many in her generation, has been to hold on to what is good while also reassessing and re-imagining what it means to be a person of faith in a more secular age. Raised influenced by the Mexican Presbyterian faith of her mother’s family and the Greek Orthodox and agnostic values of her father, Elsa’s journey highlights the hybrid ways in which people are engaging with faith and spirituality in the 21st century. Elsa attended St. Olaf College, majoring in history and social studies education. Her career has been divided between working with youth in the church and working in the field of public history.
