Take Action for Housing in Minnesota
The House of Hope Presbyterian Church has partnered with Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative over the past 10 or so years and our initial connections with them led to the building of Prior Crossing. Our Beacon Housing Working Group needs your help again to bring about change that is essential for the dignity and wellbeing of people who experience homelessness and housing insecurity. Together with Beacon, we are working to raise awareness and energy for the new legislative session. Consider signing the Beacon Interfaith Digital Action Pledge Cards and commit to participating in actions that will hopefully affect much needed change in housing and rental assistance during the 2021 Legislative Session.

January Winter Clothing Collection for Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative
Tuesday, January 19 |10 – 11:30 a.m. | Curbside Drop-Off: Porte Cochere Entrance
We invite all members and friends to care for those experiencing homelessness in our community this winter. We will collect winter clothing items for all ages and sizes (socks, hats, coats, waterproof mittens, snow pants, etc.) Items should be either new or gently used. Your generosity is appreciated.
A Resource List will be made available to all church members. This list will be very inclusive as it will have books, videos, podcasts, and verses both from the Bible and other texts that pertain to the topic of homelessness, housing security, history of racism in housing, among other connected topics.
Activities for Children and Youth
The Children and Family Ministries team has planned a special January Storytime Event
On Saturday, January 16 at 10 a.m. via Zoom. Talking about homelessness and poverty can be a daunting. How do you empower your child to help? Children (infants–Grade 5) and their adults are invited to a special storytime event as we pursue this conversation together. Contact Kiera Stegall at KieraS@hohchurch.org for Zoom details. There will also be a warm clothing drive for children’s warm clothing coordinated by the Children and Family Ministries. We also hope to include activities involving our youth.
